More than 85 daredevils descended 160ft at Eagle Tower to raise funds for charity. The group raised more than £17,000 for 11 year old cancer sufferer Nikita Moore. Nikita and her mum Tracey Trezise came from Bath to support them.
The owner of the Montpelier Drive, cheltenham building, Mel Griffin, was first to take the plunge. He is terrified of heights after nearly falling from a tower block in Lincoln four years ago but raised £5,000 by taking part. Mel said “My heart was in my mouth and I couldnt look down, but once I got going it was fun.”
Cheltenham Mayor Jacky Fletcher asked people to gathered to dig deep. She was too frightened to take part but cheered on those willing to take the leap for the charity fundraiser. She said “There are some wonderful people braver than I going up there. The young girls are a shining example to the female population.”
Fundraiser Dave Stallworthy who organised the event, said the amount raised exceeded his expectations. He said “I’m over the moon, it’s fantastic. Everyone enjoyed themselves.” The money raised will help Nikita get specialist cancer treatment in Mexico, which costs £20,000 for each treatment.
It’s not over for Mr Stallworthy, however. He will abseil down the building for Cotswold Riding for the Disabled and the Gloucestershire Multiple Sclerosis group next September.

I am so very proud of my lovely son in law for taking part and jumping from the towers on Sunday November 19th to help raise funds for Nikita’s treatment. Well done Simon, you’re a star, also my daughter Dina for her constant and unconditional and devoted support to Nikita, and to Fiona, Samantha and Kirsty, three of my beautiful grandaughters. You are all so very brave and I love you all.
Keep fighting Nikita, we are all rooting for you. xxx

Я тоже иногда такое вижу, но как-то раньше не придавал этому никакого значения.
