I am writing to thank each and every one of you who has shown such kindness and generosity with regards to my daughter Nikita Moore. As most Chronicle readers will know Nikita has suffered with many types of cancers in her short life, and our struggle keeps going in the hope that one day we will be able to find a cure for her.
As those of you who have followed Nikita’s progress stories will know, the doctors in the UK had given Nikita 12 weeks to live. That was eight weeks ago and I am thrilled to tell you all that she continues to thrive and remain healthy, outgoing and very determined to beat this.
Many people have helped to make this possible with the raising of money to pay for the alternative therapies and medicines.
Not only have I remortgaged the house to help with the funding to pay for the Issels treatment and the DNA restructuring in Mexico but so many other people have also helped, so I am writing to say a great big thank you because without you all this probably wouldn’t have been possible.
I would like to mention Farrington Farm Shop which has donated enormous amounts of organic vegetables and they continue to do so, and Radford Mill, which provides Nikita with organic apples. Nikita has lost so much weight since she began the diet from the Hope clinic in the USA she no longer eats any dairy produce, has no fats in her cooked food and no sugars, not even natural ones. When you think about it there aren’t many children or adults that would be so rigid about their diet and enjoy the diet that Nikita is doing. The green juices are thick and really hard for her to swallow but she does it and she doesn’t complain.
Also our thanks to the Winter Field Inn in Paulton which has raised money by having fun days and auctions, Nikita’s old school Trinity of Radstock, the Railway, the Lamb public house and the working men’s club all which have done discos, karaoke, barbecues and bingo evenings.
Our thanks also to The Old Culverhaysians Club who are still raising and amounts are yet to be received, The Rotary Club of Somer Valley, Radstock and also the Lions Club. All donations have been gratefully received with many thanks.
Many people have done sponsorship events like Danielle (Nikita’s sister) who did a massive 18-mile walk with her friend Stacey Curtis. In addition, Fiona Frew had her long hair cut short and many other people have been shaved or waxed, while some others have risked life and limb by bungee jumping and skydiving!
A huge thank you also to Sarah Ford and Steve Williams who have set up a website and designed and called it www.nikitamoore.com for people to watch for progress reports and to make donations.
A wonderful man called Mel Griffin, owner of Eagle Towers in Cheltenham, has now started to do fundraising to help towards a further course of Issels vaccines to keep Nikita’s medication going.
To date the amounts collected for funding towards Nikita’s treatments and therapies are £16,273.82.
There are many therapies we are trying and each day something new is helping Nikita live a normal day. She has reiki therapy a couple of times a week with a lovely man from Timsbury called Mathew Holbrook and his associates. Nikita gains so much energy through this.
Also another man called Simon Treselyan is flying to the UK from Australia to give Nikita more of this type of treatment and he has said he is determined to rid Nikita of all the bad things going on inside her body. Simon is very well known for treating people and curing them of their cancers.
Of course there are many medications we are trying and many more we would like to try. Nikita has so many different supplements that are costing hundreds of pounds a week. We are researching into foetal stem cell therapies but again that is a three-day round trip to the Dominican Republic. This would cost 25,000, but this is something I have not decided on yet.
Nikita has her next visit to the hospital today (October 12) for another scan to see if her tumours have grown or shrunk or maybe even lay dormant but it will be a few weeks after that when we get the results.
As any mother would be, I am so scared as this is my little girl who has this awful death sentence hanging over her head. I pray with all my heart and soul every day that something somewhere or someone can give me the news I need to hear.
So onwards we fight. Nikita’s courage, strength and determination is making all this worthwhile. My little girl has the will and as long as she has, so must I.
On that note again I thank you all so much for everything you all have done for Nikita and I apologise sincerely to anyone I may have missed out. Believe me, you have not been forgotten. My head is so full of information and technologies and the constant worries and anxieties I endure each day.
Your kind words, your help and your appreciation, have made all the difference.
